La Gala de las Espadas
My very first full collection was inspired by the elegance of death and embodiment of the soul that is left behind. Each look in the collection is loosely based on the 6 Espada of the show Bleach. The Espada, a "rag-tag" gathering of spirits who lost their souls, play the villain until they either find peace or lose themselves.
Creation Process
Original Designs
Above are the original designs I created for the collection. I wanted to maintain a strict black and white color palette. Each look require specific design elements to emulated the character they represented.
Final Designs
The final designs came about from over two months of construction and draping research. I incorporated innovative design points to each look to create more technical fashion to provide an otherworldly aura to the collection. From this desire, the 3D prints were born.
The Final Show
Finally after months of planning, construction, seam ripping and hair pulling, my final collection made its debut on the runway. Six looks, 14 pieces. Pure Elegance.
